Introducing SpaceBudz! Astronaut collectibles on the Cardano blockchain
We have been working several months on this new NFT project, and it’s finally coming to its final stage. We introduce SpaceBudz, one of the first collectibles on the Cardano blockchain!
SpaceBudz?
To find the ideal collectible, we took a few things that we loved, blended them together and well.. out of the mix came cute astronaut animals on the Cardano blockchain.
We created 10.000 unique SpaceBudz for you to collect! Every Bud has a unique set of race, background, objects and other rarities. Some of them can be very rare, and some are more common. But in the end, they are a unique collectible for you to own completely!
So.. why Cardano?
Cardano is slowly shifting to the Goguen-Phase which will allow smart contracts for the very first time. On the other hand Ethereum gas fees are becoming or already have become a huge obstacle for NTFs on its blockchain. These two aspects makes us believe that there is a place for NFTs on Cardano.
If we compare these NFTs to Ethereum NFTs, there are some differences. Ethereum tokens like the ERC-721 and ERC-1155 standard, are smart contracts. They are not the same as Ethereum itself. To send a token you need to execute a Smart Contract and pay much higher transaction costs than you pay for ETH. On the Cardano chain, tokens are native, so they are on the same level as ADA. Sending tokens costs the same as if you would send ADA. Also, because the tokens are not smart contracts, they are more secure because they don’t allow for human errors since you don’t need to write a contract.
They will outlive us all
All the SpaceBudz traits are completely on-chain! The images however are both on Arweave and on IPFS! Why?
IPFS is a popular P2P network for sharing data in a decentralized way, but it lacks one feature: Permanence. Content on the IPFS network can disappear. If no-one hosts the data, it could be lost forever.
Arweave is a new type of storage that backs data with sustainable and perpetual endowments, allowing users and developers to truly store data forever — for the very first time.
As a collectively owned hard drive that never forgets, Arweave allows us to remember and preserve valuable information, apps, and history indefinitely. By preserving history, it prevents others from rewriting it.

How do I get a SpaceBud?
- Download and install a Chrome browser plugin called Yoroi. This will allow websites access to your Cardano account.
- If you made a new account, buy some ADA.
- Once you have the plugin installed, go to https://spacebudz.io/opening this website will show you a specific amount of ADA, that you have to send to a specific address. When doing so you will claim your unique SpaceBud!
Trading
It’s important to mention that trading SpaceBudz is not yet available. As the Cardano contracts are not yet released, we can only offer the ownership of the token at this point!
You can however send them around freely! You are not limited to the SpaceBudz platform and do not have to wait until trading to swap ownership.

The price of every 1000 SpaceBudz will increase accordingly:
0001–1000: 10 ADA
1001–2000: 20 ADA
2001–3000: 30 ADA
3001–4000: 40 ADA
4001–5000: 50 ADA
5001–6000: 60 ADA
6001–7000: 70 ADA
7001–8000: 80 ADA
8001–9000: 90 ADA
